Thale, Morovek 13th - Year 867;
After our impromptu Job in the warehouse district I gave the team a list of contacts that could supply them with rare and unusual supplies (Some not so legal) and let them go shopping. I told them to meet up with me at the Adventurers guild for the next job.

Took Balarion and went to try doing the job myself. We ran into a Gelatinous cube, and by ran into I mean I walked into it and passed out. Apparently Balarion pulled me out of the cube and brought me back to our room at the adventurer's guild. I've just woken up and been notified that i've been out for 2 days.

Journal Entry of Tyson Harcord.
Kanaansday, Morovek 27th - Year 867;
Went to the boards today. Surprisingly I found two new team members, their previous adventuring teams apparently died, very tragic, their names were Veronica and Rhonda (I think). I took them to get some gear, made them sign paper agreements. Went to the adventurers guild, obtain the contract (again). we will be setting out tomorrow morning to start the job.
Days 17 - Deaths Final Embrace.
Journal Entry of Tyson Harcord.
Day of Veneration, Morovek 28th - Year 867;
So the old team showed up, apparently one of the team members was getting his longbow enchanted by one of my contacts and they spent 16 days shopping, how they survived during this time I do not know. I conveniently didn't say anything about my breakdowns, for fear they would think me less a man for my weakness. So rather I introduced the two "new" team members and sent them on their way to do the contract.
(the rest of this information has been obtained from Balarion's operation logs and interpreted by Tyson)
Upon leaving the team at the entrance to the undergrounds sewer systems. They readied themselves for battle and entered the sewer systems. The Rogues, Owla, Aura, and Zahara, stealthed ahead to scout the way (Zahara met the unfortunate disaster of slipping into the sewage during the attempt) and soon found a "willing" inhabitant of this septic underworld to show them the way to where the disappearances were taking place.

The team attempted to eradicate the cube although it took a very large number of attacks, the magic of their Sorceress Leyla, a cuddle session between the Fighter and the Quarter-Orc, and an abnormally powerful attack from the unassuming Lost Ranger they were finally able to terminate the life(?) of the Gelatinous Cube. From within the liquified contents of the cube the Quarter-Orc and the Fighter finally broke their sweet embrace and found that there was also another person within the contents of the Cube. the newcomer appeared to be an Aasimar of race, which accounts for why she wasn't consumer by the Cube's acidity. Aasimar are known for their resistance to Acid, Electricity, etc.
The newcomer introduced herself as Gwyneth, a member of Tyson's previous team, and the sole survivor as far as we know.
She easily integrated with the new team, though I believe her time within the Cube may have addled her brain slightly, as her actions were impulsive and loud. I am certain she will get better with time and does not need proper care.
The corridor behind the cube had what appeared to be an opening to a previously undiscovered crypt, (presumably where the cube came from). The team made their way inside and found what appears to be a large room connecting to a complex built into the rock. There was a large stone door on the front of the complex, it was shut and locked, the Lost Ranger noticed tracks and was able to determine that they belonged to a subterranean species of manlike lizards known as troglodytes. In their eagerness to meet these new underground denizens many attempts were made to open the door. First the Lost Ranger knocked on the door with his head, no one opened the door for us. Then one of the rogues tried breaking the lock, but that didn't help either. After the Fighter and the "Quarter-Orc", feeling confident with their newly budding relationship tried to muscle the door down (they failed). Gwyneth erratically started beating on the door with her Warhammer, trying to break it down (This didn't work either). Finally to combined efforts of the Fighter and the "Quarter-Orc" proved fruitful and the burst through the door and into the room.

Unfortunately the Troglodytes weren't as eager to meet the individuals that were attempting to burst through the doors of their lair in a medieval home invasion and were prepped for a fight.

The fight was brutal and disastrous for the Troglodytes as one by one they witnessed their Family members and guards animals (Large Monitor Lizards) cut down with horrendously powerful attacks from the Ugly Quarter-Orc and the rest of the team. The onslaught was so terrifying to these simple creatures who's home was being invaded that they fled in an apparent attempt to gather their young and old and hide in the deepest recesses of their lair.
Forging further into the Crypt the team found the burial chambers of three unknown individuals whose sarcophagi appeared to be previously raided. The Lost Ranger, being of the (Semi) Elvin persuasion was able to spot three hidden doors nearly immediately. All three of these doors had rough hewn corridors behind them (presumably made by the Troglodytes) and eventually led to another room that had at one time held the Troglodytes guard lizards (Before Quarter Orc and the Lost Ranger turned them into food).
Trekking deeper into the lair the team came across the living area of the Troglodytes, it appears that they had hastily left the area and retreated further into the warren of tunnels.
In the living area the team found a small cache of equipment left behind by the Troglodytes. The team eagerly took possession of one dozen troglodyte javelins, two common quality short swords, a morning star, four steel hooded lanterns, a masterworked dwarven war hammer, a torn wizards robe, a ring of minor spell storing, a potion of cure light wounds, 50 feet of rope, a map case containing three local maps of Alspar, a Guitar, A set of masterworked craftsmen tools, 34 gp, 65 sp and 31 cp.
At this point in time the efforts of the team split into two tracks. The Lost Ranger and several others led the way deeper into the warren of tunnels and soon found the last hold-out of the troglodytes, their Egg clutch room. These members of the team wrestled with the idea of killing off the remainder of these pitiful creatures and stealing their eggs, presumably to either sell as pets or into slavery. In the end though they decided against it, though the decision may have been influence by the fact that the other members of the team had broken down a bricked up wall they had found in the living area and in the process had found a very old secret passageway.
Just inside the passageway they found a bridge. Playing to their strengths the team sent their lightest and most skilled rogue to traverse the bridge. The rogue, Zahara, found that the bridge was indeed trapped, but she was able to skillfully avoid falling victim to the trap, and then disabled the trap so that the rest of the team was able to traverse unharmed.
On the other side of this bridge there was a short corridor that ended with a door that when approached, loudly proclaimed "Turn back! Turn back! Come no further, for death awaits you within! the curse of Nognor be upon you is you take another step!" with that challenge the rouge Zahara defiantly opened the door.

It was about this time that the Lost Ranger drew his weapon, nocked an arrow, pulled the string, and let loose an arrow that carried with it the might of long lost and forgotten gods. In that moment worlds were created and died. Intelligences spawned and withered. The arrow, imbued with an energy few mortals can comprehend found it's mark. the Bugbear Zombie ceased to exist, unwritten from the tapestry of time as if it had never existed in the first place. With the death of the undead creature something awoke deep within he wood of the bow, something that hungered, pitted, and yearning in the deep darkness of unconsciousness.
