Journal Entry of Tyson Harcord.
Day of Penance, Morovek 29th - Year 867;
I had the strangest morning. I woke up and started counting my gold, a hefty sum, and then proceed to put on some clothes (I have an higher than normal body temperature that does not allow me to comfortably sleep unless nude, don't judge me).
After getting dressed I went downstairs to the Adventurers Guild mess hall and got my favorite breakfast of Honey Mead with Meat and Cream.
I was in the process of trying to gather information on possible jobs in the border cities when the strangest thing happened, I woke up in my bed again, declothed. At first I was frighteningly confused, but then I resolved the I had simply had a pleasant dream. that was, until I counted my coins, and came to the same number from my dream. And then put the same cloths on and ate the same breakfast... I even had the same conversations with people about jobs in the boarder towns and was able to finish their sentences... either I've gain some type of superpower, or there are shenanigans afoot.
After securing information about our potential next job, which would be in Sworn (I'll have to either purchase passage on one of the many Airships or landboats, or buy mounts and carts, not sure which would be cheaper.) I collected the team and explained to them what it was we'd be doing as we made our way to the Warriors Guild to accept the deadlands contract.

Garron |
At this point things get kind of fuzzy, I recall getting startled, seeing a bunch of black smoke, and then seeing Garron, who I thought was dead. I know now that I was hurt pretty bad by that bastard Garron, I always knew he was a bad egg, I should have taken a hint when I was advised by the Entrepreneurs Guild to avoid him.
Upon reviewing Balarion's operational log during my recovery I watched the resulting battle unfold before me.
Garron appeared in front of the group in a puff of smoke and stabbed me brutally, and then teleported away further down the road, maybe 100 or so feet. I recognize Desina, and Arredondo with him (it appears that the entire old group survived the gelatinous cube) I'm not sure why they are doing what they are doing. Standing behind them is a cloaked figure that Balarions logs refer to as:

Unknown Female Mage |
Possible Discipline: Necromancer(Raise Dead), Evocation(Fire/Lightning), or Transmutation(Chronomancy)
Type: Sorcerer (80%) or Wizard (20%)
Magical Aptitude: Arcane
After the Initial attack I was surprised to see the ranger drop down and immediately being applying pressure to my wounds while frantically pulling out his healing kit and slapping bandage after bandage over the wound. I watched through Balarion's eyes as my body began to shake from the poison that was introduced by the rogues blade and was now coursing through my veins. The ranger deftly began administering herbs and paste to my wound. My body became still, no longer wracked by the pains of the poison. No I wasn't dead, through the valiant efforts of the Lost Ranger I have survived the day. That's when all hell broke out.
Garron began teleporting about brutally stabbing the party member with his poisoned blades, starting with my savior Altus, but was soon cut down by the Quarter Orc Roth. The Unknown Mage however had other plans and using some type of spell (Aura: Transmutation -Unknown Chronomancy) she teleported Garron to her and raised him as an awakened undead (Aura: Necromancy - Raise Dead).

Arredondo |
to meet that threat, while Arredondo and the Unnamed Mage stayed back and peppered the party with magic (Aura: Evocation - Fiery Lightning Bolt) and explosives. I saw Altus and Owla move to take cover in the buildings surrounding the street, while Ranvier took cover behind a cart in the street. The three of them pressing forward on Arredondo and the mage with a flurry of ranged missiles.
Also, in multiple selfless acts, I saw both the Paladin Gwenyth and Balarion rushed into the melee to heal, and on some occasions save from certain death, their compatriots.
During this onslaught of melee, magic, and missiles The newly undead Garron picked up right where he left off, appearing to not be phased by his new status. Teleporting directly into the middle of the group he ferociously attacked the mage, Leyla, before teleporting away and taking down the Lost Ranger Altus... And here is where things get weird again. you see, Balarion's service log reports a "WD2000 Run-time error '5': Invalid Procedure Call or Argument: Invalid time-stamp" although his visual log kept recording. it appears to skip back and replay a few events, though they don't seem to match up just quite with the prior recording. Among other changes, in the later recording The undead Garron does not teleport to attack Altus, but in fact resumes the attack on the mage. At which point in time The Rougling Twins, Zahara and Aura, and the Mage Leyla focus their attention on bringing down Garron.
After what seems to be an eternity the party managed to beat back Desina, Arredondo and the Mage. As if by some command Desina Fled on foot, Arredondo used a magic device that turned him into a whipsy gas like version of himself and he flew away very quickly while the mage began casting a spell. As the mage was casting her spell The Lost Ranger knocked one last arrow in his bow and gave her a parting present, she took and arrow to the neck and crumpled to the ground clutching her neck just as the spell completed, whisping her into the unknown (Aura: Transmutation - Unknown Chronomancy).
The Awakened undead formally known as Garron, however, did not far as well, and was crushed (to death?) and destroyed by a large tangle of vines that the Rougling Zahara somehow managed to summon on it. After verifying that all was safe the party began searching the body of the newly re-deaded Garron for clues to the reason for the attack. Here is the recorded list of items taken down in Balarions internal inventory management system:
One +1 Keen Dagger (poisoned with Medium Spider Venom)
One +1 Dwarf-bane Punching Dagger (poisoned with Black Adder Venom)
One +1 Light Crossbow
One full set of adjustable fit Mastercraft Elven Chain
A Shadow Cloak, still writing as if it were alive.
A pair of sleek black leather Dimension Stride Boots
A pair of Goggles of the Night
A broken amulet (purpose unkown)
and 100 Platinum pieces
The gear and coin purse are presumably his payment for this attack, and other possible duties he may have and may have been planning to do. During my recuperation I have been making plans for tracking the remaining members of this group and making them pay for the attack. However, we require the funds to enact those plans, so we will be heading to Sworn, fulfilling the needs of the Warriors guild, all while filling our pockets with their gold.
After which, I wholly swear by my beating heart. Desina, Arredondo, and vile Mage we will find you; and we will end you...
